TaskNation, Inc. ("TaskNation," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the TaskNation platform, including the website located at tasknation.com and our mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you access or use our Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.
Key Terms
"Consumer" (or "Customer") means any individual or their authorized agent who uses the Platform to request, browse, or purchase services.
"Service Professional" (or "Pro") means any individual or business entity that uses the Platform to offer, advertise, or provide professional services to Consumers.
"Pro Services" means the home services, repair, maintenance, installation, or other professional services offered by Service Professionals through the Platform.
"User Content" means any content, including text, images, photos, videos, reviews, ratings, and other materials that a User submits, posts, or transmits through the Platform.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you create an account, submit a Service Request, communicate through the Platform, or otherwise interact with us:
- Account Information: Full name, email address, telephone number, zip code, mailing address, and password.
- Service Request Details: Description of the service needed, service category, location/address, preferred schedule, urgency level, photos, and responses to qualification questions.
- Demographic Data: Age range, household information, and property details you choose to provide.
- Pro-Specific Information: Business name, license numbers, insurance certificates, coverage amounts, W-9 tax certification, SSN/EIN (last 4 digits), driver's license for identity verification, and professional qualifications.
- Payment Information: Credit/debit card details, billing address, and bank account information (for Pros receiving payouts). Payment card data is collected and processed by Stripe and is not stored on our servers.
- Communications: Messages sent through in-app chat, support tickets, reviews, ratings, and any correspondence with us or with other Users through the Platform.
- Media Uploads: Photos, videos, documents (insurance certificates, licenses), and other files you upload.
Information from Third Parties
- Social media platforms (e.g., Google, Apple, Facebook) if you choose to link your account;
- Credit bureau reports and background check services (for Pro verification);
- Payment processors, including transaction confirmations and fraud detection data;
- Analytics and advertising partners;
- Publicly available databases and government licensing databases.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, unique device identifiers (IDFA/Android Advertising ID), screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, search queries, browsing frequency, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and duration of visits.
- Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address. Precise geolocation with your device permission.
- Log Data: IP address, internet service provider, access times, and system activity logs.
How We Use Your Information
- Service Delivery: To match Consumers with Pros, create and distribute Leads, facilitate communication, verify identity, and process payments.
- AI-Powered Features: To power our AI Booking Assistant, which uses automated tools (including artificial voice and AI messaging) to contact customers, schedule appointments, and facilitate bookings on behalf of Pros.
- Account Management: To create, maintain, and secure your account, verify your identity, and provide customer support.
- Communications: To send service updates, order confirmations, appointment reminders, Pro responses, payment receipts, and SMS/email notifications via automated systems.
- Lead Qualification: To assess the quality and value of Service Requests for matching Consumers with appropriate Pros and pricing Leads.
- Safety and Fraud Prevention: To monitor and transcribe in-platform chat and telephone calls for quality assurance, fraud prevention, and safety monitoring.
- Marketing: To send promotional communications about our services, subject to your preferences and applicable law.
- Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, conduct research, and improve the Platform's performance and user experience.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
How We Disclose Your Information
With Service Professionals
When you submit a Service Request, we share relevant information with Pros who may fulfill your request, including your name, service location (address or ZIP code), service description, photos, scheduling preferences, and contact information. This sharing is necessary to facilitate the connection between you and Pros.
BY SUBMITTING A SERVICE REQUEST, YOU EXPRESSLY CONSENT TO THE SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION WITH PROS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVICE FULFILLMENT.
We do not share your payment card information with Pros. Once shared, a Pro's use of your information is governed by their own privacy practices.
Payment Processors
We share payment information with Stripe and other payment processors to process transactions. These processors are contractually obligated to protect your information.
Service Providers & Vendors
We engage third-party providers for hosting, data storage, email delivery (Resend), SMS services, customer support, AI voice calling, background checks, and fraud detection. These providers are contractually required to protect your information.
Analytics & Advertising Partners
We may share aggregated or de-identified data with analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) and advertising partners to understand usage patterns and deliver relevant advertisements.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, including to: (a) comply with subpoenas, court orders, or governmental requests; (b) protect the rights or property of TaskNation; (c) prevent or investigate wrongdoing; (d) protect the safety of Users or the public; or (e) protect against legal liability.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on the Platform.
No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Sharing Customer information with Pros for service fulfillment is not considered a "sale" of personal information.
Online Analytics and Tailored Advertising
We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activity:
- Essential Cookies: Enable core functionality (authentication, session management, security). Strictly necessary and cannot be disabled.
- Functional Cookies: Remember preferences, language settings, saved locations, and other customizations.
- Analytics Cookies: Help understand how Users interact with the Platform. We use Google Analytics and similar services.
- Advertising Cookies: Deliver relevant advertisements and measure campaign effectiveness. These may be placed by third-party ad networks.
Managing Cookies & Opt-Out
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising through:

Global Privacy Control (GPC)
TaskNation honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a valid "Do Not Sell or Share" request under applicable state privacy laws.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. The Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals, but you can manage tracking preferences through cookie settings or GPC as described above.
Privacy of Minors
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately at privacy@tasknation.com.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

Communications and Marketing
By providing your email address and/or telephone number, you consent to receive transactional communications related to your Service Requests. You may opt out of marketing communications by:
- Clicking "Unsubscribe" in any marketing email
- Replying STOP to any marketing SMS message
- Adjusting notification preferences in account settings

Transactional and service-related communications necessary for Service Requests will continue even if you opt out of marketing.
SMS/Text Messages
By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive automated text messages related to your account and Service Requests. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of using the Platform. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information:

All data encrypted using TLS/SSL between your device and our servers.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:

- Social Security Number and Driver's License number (for Pro identity verification only)
Right to Limit Use of SPI: TaskNation does not use or disclose Sensitive Personal Information for purposes that would trigger the "Right to Limit" under the CCPA. We use SPI solely for the primary service purposes described in this Policy (identity verification, service delivery, security).

Financial Incentive Programs
TaskNation may offer promotions, discounts, or referral programs that involve collection of personal information. Participation is voluntary, and you may opt out at any time. The value of the financial incentive is reasonably related to the value of the personal information collected.
Automated Decision-Making Technology (ADMT)
TaskNation uses algorithms to match Consumers with Pros, score Leads, and power AI-assisted booking features. As of the effective date of this Notice, we are monitoring the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) requirements for ADMT disclosures effective January 1, 2027, and will update this Notice accordingly.
Residents of Other States
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have similar rights. Please contact us at dataprivacy@tasknation.com to exercise your rights under applicable state law.
